In an effort to ensure that only U.S. citizens can vote in Alaska’s local and statewide elections, a group of citizens is in the process of gathering signatures for a proposed ballot measure that would be put before voters in 2026.
The ballot initiative by Alaskans for Citizen Voting (ACV), was recently approved to begin gathering signatures from across the state.
If voters approve the measure, Alaska will join the growing list of states that have moved decisively to protect the integrity of their voter rolls from non-citizen voting schemes.
