Voters in North Carolina will decide on a ballot measure in November 2024 to prohibit non-citizen voting, joining similar measures in Iowa, Kentucky, Missouri, Oklahoma, South Carolina, and Wisconsin. These measures, placed by Republican-controlled state legislatures, aim to amend state constitutions to specify that only U.S. citizens can vote. Previously, such measures in North Dakota (2018), Colorado (2020), Alabama (2020), Florida (2020), Ohio (2022), and Louisiana (2022) were approved with over 62.9% of the vote.
